Arnolds Workout
Ive been doing some reading on the way arnold used to lift. Everyone is always saying its bad to lift a muscle many times a week, but in arnolds workouts, mon, wed, and friday was chest arms and shoulders, and tues, thursday and sat were legs and back. So my question is, if working out a particular muscle many times a week isnt good, how did he get so damn big? Sorry if im asking a stupid question, but if this routine is good, i wana start doing it if i'll get more gains. If anyone uses this workout please Pm me about it, thanx

im also trying to burn off some fat and get lean muscle, if i increased his reps per set from 8, to between 12-15, could this work good? cuz he usually did 5 sets of 8-10

Arnold did do some crazy ass lifting, but all i can tell you is to try it for a few weeks because the only way to find out is to give a trial run. If you feel you are making better gains then stick with it. If you start to see/feel signs of overtraining then stop or switch it up a little bit.
Everybody is diffrent, but the general rule of lifting is to avoid overtraining, we do this by sticking to a limited number of sets, just because you feel like you can do more does not always mean you should. But then again some people respond diffrently. I find that i myself require more reps on certain exercises then others in order for them to grow.
If you want to lean out a little bit why don't you try supersets. you could superset bi's/trs, etc..
Another thing you could do would be to reduce your carb intake, but keep your protein where it is at if not a tad bit higher. Do Before breakfast cardio with e/c/a.
Have you considered a ketogenic diet?

in arnold's encyclopedia, he list 2 splits, the 3 day split and a 2 day split. You can tell though that he prefers the 2 day split. I would say good luck with this workout because i don't see it doing much good for anyone but arnold, i can pretty much guarantee u won't ever see a pro on a 2 day split again.

New issue of Flex details some of his workout routines. He was doing most lifts 3x a week. Crazy, but he's a big boy.
