Cardio help....Whats up with my heart rate???

Alright first the facts. Im 19, 6'0, 215.

Ive recently(the last few months) lost about 20-30 lbs of weight(some fat and muscle) just by dieting(watching what eat).

Ive decided to do some Cardio and picked up spinning. I cant do all parts of the class because my heart rate explodes up to like 170. I'd say my perceived exhaustion would be a 5-6 out of 10 when I get to 170-175 but I dont want to exceed 170, as that is 85% of my MHR, so I just sit down and cycle until it lowers. A light spin with little to no exertion(1-2 out of 10) gets me to like 130-140 beats easily and a little harder(2-3 out of 10) Im at 150-160. What can I do? I want to stay in my fat burning zone.

Another thing is I go spinning at 9 Am but i have a class at 8, so i wake up at 7. I normally have a bowl of cereal(about 1.5-2 cups of cereal, and 2/3-1 cup of milk) plus 8 oz of OJ because If not I will feel famished. Is this really hurting my fat burning chances? Heck, Im hungry after spinning at 10 and usually eat then too...

also why dont you go before class and do your cardio on a empty stomach, try walking the tred mill and do it for 30-45 min. at good pace.
, then whenyour done with that get your meal in.=.02

The cereal and OJ isn't certainly hurting it. The sugar is actually replenishing glycogen lost during your sleep.
