    gyms in the Montreal area?

    hey folks,
i intend on moving up to the city of Montreal and i am addicted to my hardcore workouts. I would rather not loose any time searching for a cool gym.
I would appreciate any information regarding the location of such places in the area. Anything from Gold's to some neighbourghood rat-hole.
Vous pouvez m'ecrire en francais aussi.
    thank you in advance bros

Montreal is a big city bro... there are hundreds and hundreds of gyms here.

Everything from grubby basement hard core gyms to high end expensive "soccer mom" gyms.

One thing thats for sure, is that no matter where you are in montreal, there will be a gym within a few miles of you.

There's a great gym called GYM right up the street (about 3 blocks) from the main building at McGill University (I think the music/voice faculty is in that building too--that might help you find it). I visited a friend attending McGuill a while ago and worked out at that gym while there. It's a great city. One of the cleanest major cities I've seen.

There's a good atmosphere in GYM. People seemed serious about lifting. I was there around 4:00 each day. Dunno what the crowds are like during peak business. I was able to get to the equipment easily when I was there. It's not large. Just basic and down-to-earth. No fru-fru, extraneous equipment.

Hope that gives you a good start.

    Best of luck.

I started going to Montreal Gym on st-catherine and university - the locker room is disgusting, but the guys are big and the ambiance is for handcore gym lifters - i like it - not for soccer moms but gorillas!
