    Question Hammer Curls

After suffering a broken forearm (ulna) & displacement of some bones in my wrist, the only BICEP exercise that I am able to do at the moment are DUMBELL HAMMER CURLS with fairly LIGHT WEIGHTS.

Are these an effective exercise for building up my BICEPS (my left bicep is now quite a bit smaller/weaker than my right bicep) or am I wasting my time???

Also, are there any variations to the HAMMER CURL that I could use to mix up my workouts a bit???

Hammer curls are a good lift, now as your main lift I'm not so sure. I use hamer curls in everyone of my bicep workouts.

i also regularily use hammer curls. i find that they do not target the peak very well, but rather thickness and width of the bicep.

    good luck with the recovery

    Cheers for the reply Texan.

I can't do any other bicep exercises at the moment so I'll have to stick with just the Hammer Curls for now.

It's good to know I'm not wasting my time by doing them though.

Do you know any bicep exercises which use a similar movement to Hammer Curls?

Not really, I mean I do but with a broken arm you're pretty limited.

If your arm is broken, ANY exercise will help reduce the atrophy. Just make sure you take it easy so you don't prolong your injury.

i recently started doin hammer curls...while not being so sure what they do for my biceps. but i noticed after doing them for a lil while my biceps and forearms are shaped a lil different, a lil thicker. i reccomend them in bicep workouts.

i just did hammer curls the other day. I have not used them for a long time! But i did some the other day heavy and with a few forced reps. For the first time in a long time my bi was sore the next day. It also hit the area i feel im lacking in

hammer curls incorporate the Brachialis muscle a lot more than regular bicep curls. but yes it's not really hitting the very "peak of your bicep
