    deads instead of squat?

i have a bad shoulder and squatting hurts too much when i have to bring my shoulder back to hold the bar. instead of squats, what would be more productive as a mass exercise for my legs, regular deadlifts, sumo deadlifts, hack squat, or legpress?

Dead lifts will hit your legs and many people swap deads for squats on leg days.

You can also do your squats with dumbells. I also recommend doing step ups. They're great for hitting the quad and they also give the hip flexors a really good workout.

I'd alternate Key's suggestion and deads from week to week. And on back day, incorporate some cleans.

You could also do frontal holding

I'd go with KeyMastur's advice on this one.
