    chest day help

give me your thoughts on my chest exercises, also do you think im doing too much?

    flys - 4 sets
    machine press - 4 sets
    dumbell press - 3 sets
    incline machine - 3 sets
    cables - 3 sets

i usually do it in that order, im not sure if thats most efficient, i aim for 10 reps on all sets, but sometimes i only get 8. Do you think i should try some different exercises, or switch the order in which i do my exercises, since flys can exhaust me right before i start doing much heavier weight for chest presses. ive been lifting seriously for 5 months so im not a good judge at my own progress. and ive been doing those same basic exercises because i got accustomed to them. well give me your input

if you feel comfortably now you can shift on over to the free weights
instead of using machines, if you feel your ready for the transition.
if you been using this same routine for those five months i'd change it now. i'd suggest incline db,decline db, and cables. each for four sets each.

waaaay too much IMO, i'd cut two of those excersizes out if you're doing 4 sets each.... 12 sets is enough!!!!

be intense and don't just go through the motions

Here's my routine and I have been seeing good gains off of it:

    Barbell Incline - 3 Sets
Dumbbell Flat Bench - 3-4 Sets
    Cables - 3 Sets
    Dumbell Decline - 3 Sets

Good call! I dislocated my shoulder about a year ago and had to change my chest routine. I keep forgetting to put them back in the rotation now. I will have to go light, but I need to strengthen that part of the shoulder and chest. REDROCK
