I wanted my claves to be thick and wide. a friend at the gym told me to do 9 sets heavy for calves. standing raises for 3, then alternate between heels wide apart, toes close and heels close together toes wide apart. Seems to work for me. Good luck.

3 sets standing raises (feet straight/parallel)
6 sets (3 of each) alternating between wide and narrow.

hit the calves at every angle you can possibly think of

remember the gastrocnemius has VERY oxidative muscle fibers with lots of blood vessesls supplying it with oxygen so you cant just stick with a single rep range...you have to overload it at a wide rep range from 6 reps to failuer all the way to 50 reps to failuer

as for making it wider...its genetics, you can make it bigger but you cant shape a it
