    Job Specific Training

Had a question wondering if anyone else works in oilfield specifically drilling and does any specific training to help them do their job or stay in shape when they are stacked out(layed off).

I didn't not train when I was Riggin, but i would do recommend allot of free weight you know like single hand 70-100lbs dumbell lift (similar motion to pulling slips), Going up/down stairs w/ 50-100lbs (similar to packing mud), Squats to keep your legs strong, if you have access to Push & Pull Sleds, that would help keep your muscle memory (for Pushing collars ect) & last but not least, cardio for endurance.
I had this talk with my brother in law about a month ago, this is what we came up with.

Let me know if you do actually figure it out and how it works out for you. I can remember coming back from having my Rig racked was torture for the first week or so. Wish I was smart enough to keep in shape like you're planning to.
