Did shoulders and chest on the same day, not good?

So i have a day for
    Back
    Biceps/Triceps
    Legs
    Shoulders
    Chest

Im doing legs every third day no matter what cause i've had some problem with the growing and seen good results from doing them so oftent so im gonna keep doing it. SO i though i'd do chest and shoulders on the same day, to make them grow bigger cause then i can train them more ofent. But i did today and i feel completely exhausted. Im just asking, is this a good or bad thing to do them on the same day or should i do them on separate days?

I have always trained shoulders with chest for the opposite reason. Because I have had so much trouble with my shoulders from baseball. When you do any type of pressing exercise the shoulders are activated anyway. My thought is by doing shoulders on chest day, they get a solid week of rest since I have no shoulder specific day. I will do rear delt exercise with my back day.

I agree with MS I been training shoulders on chest day too. That way after chest all I have to do is finish the shoulders off as they are already pretty worked over

Maybe combine your back and chest as well as you bi/tri and shoulders. This way you have a bi week split.

    Chest/back
    Shoulder/bi/tri
    Legs/core

this also gives you a rest day and the ability to tear muscle fibers twice a week while still having time to repair in between.

In my case i dont seem to be able to train shoulders after chest; the main reason is my chest being exhausted after the w/o and my shoulders feel tired and with way less power and strength than what i have when i start with shoulders on a fresh day.

Thats the reason why i always choose to do Biceps (or triceps) on chest day.

I really like the Dorian split of shoulders and triceps. That being said chest and shoulders are great too. Like Bio said your shoulders are already getting worked by doing chest, may as well finish them off. I just like to do the both separate personally. It just helps me focus better and push more weight. Most importantly of all, experiment and see what works best for your body.

weight is irrelevant. As long as you are lifting as much as you can with proper form you will grow. Don't focus so much on the weight but focus on the form and constant tension you are putting on your muscles.

It doesn't matter. Do shoulders and chest for awhile then switch it to a different split.

Like bio said diff things work for diff ppl and like MS said doing them on the same day is a good way to give them more rest..I can't do them on the same day I recently tried and by the time I got to shoulders I was completely worn out..I do really hard short workouts and expend all my energy very quickly and not energy as in glycogen, because I have plenty of fuel in the tank by the time I get to the gym..maybe more like CNS wear,I dunno..I do a lot of drop sets ,super sets and take very little time in between sets..maybe I need to take a few monthes and just work on musclular endurance but I don't feel like I got a good workout in my body and mind unless I go to complete failure..

Could you post your 3 day weekly workout Kel? You posted it a couple of months ago in a thread and I can't find which one it was. It's one of the only things I never got a chance to write down. I had been doing 3 days a week for a long time, but I wanted to try yours out because there were slight differences. I'm going to need all the help I can get when I get back in the gym!

Are we the only two to hit the same muscle group twice a week?

To OP, it shouldn't matter. It's usually normal to be exhausted/extra sore when starting a new workout routine. Your body should adapt fairly soon. If not, keep tweaking.
