Overtrained??????
Today was the chest day.....
The strength was there (I added 10lb to the BB and worked it easily)
However, I got completely exhausted after the first set.
(last time I felt this way when I was cutting and depleted glycogen on low carb diet)
Couldn't do another set (I could, but only if I took 30% weight off)
So, I cut the work out short with 1 set bench press and 1 set flys.
Decided to do some cardio - went for a bike ride - in 10 min my quads felt sore, like I was doing squats
could this be I'm overtrained? Any comments appreciated.
Thanks

I took a couple of days off
Yesterday --- everything was ok
However, same thing happened again today - the strength is there and it keeps on going up...... but, I'm exhausted after 1 set.
Any suggestions?

whats your food intake look like? try training later in the day when you have some meals behind you.

I work out in the afternoon.
PS - I do cardio (20 min) a couple of times a week in the morning before the first meal

My normal workout would be
2 warm up sets
1 set of 4 to 8 --- to failure
1 set of 4 to 8 to negative failure, then take some weight off, then more, then more.
5 days a week - training each muscle once a week
1 to 1.5 hours per day
I've been doing that for a long time with no prob ----- this sudden exhaustion thing is something new - I never had that before.

Throw another day of rest in your week, and cut your workouts back to an hour, then go from there.
