the weapon
ive been havin trouble bringin out my lats i was wonderin for lat pulldown is "the weapon"(wat people in my gym call in- looks like a bar wit a circle on each end) target a different spot of the lats or work better then the traditional lat pulldown bar

Use both....they will hit the muscle group at a little different angle.. As long as you do them slow and strict, both bars are ok.

I would do body weight pull ups not pull downs to start. And yes Rich8888 is right, do them both, and a real wide grip, slow and make sure you concentrate to use your back not your biceps. Slow and steady.
Buy a pull up bar that you expand between a doorway, and whip out sets while you're at home just walking under the passway. It's a good way to mass 'em up.
