Check out these bad boys I just picked up for the home gym

    New Dumbbells:

    Picked up 5-75 and 105 - 120.
80-100 and the racks coming next week.

Took a great suggestion from an AR bro and went to Play it again sports, they were 49 cents per pound but offered a 20% discount if I bought sets. No shipping, just had to drive about 25 min to go pick them up.

I advise that you spread all those weights around. I am a structural engineer and residential structures such as houses or apartment complexes are NOT designed for such high point loads. You have over 650 pounds in not more than 3 feet. How much do you think the average 2x10 joist can support... Not that much. Unless there is a thickened slab under that room (which i doubt there is) you are going to have a structural failure in the near future.

Thanks withoutd0oubt. It is the basement level and below the floor is a varpor barrier, some 1/4" padding, concrete and earth. Once I have them all it will be a total of 3000lbs on two 53" 3 tier racks.

Seein as how that's the basement, you're good to go. Also, make sure that you don't drop those big bells from db bench strait onto the ground like most of us do at the gym. Thats a quick way to break up your concrete and not to mention your nice wood floor really easily.

Have not had a problem yet, I put the bench where it is centered over one of those heavy duty mats. I don't drop them hard like Ronnie Coleman in "The Unbelievable" but kind of try to hammer curl them down as easy as possible to the floor. One thing I love about them is they don't roll around.

Thanks for all the comments. I have built my little home gym slowly over time. This is the first time I have had dumbbells for home. I love all the exercises you can do with them, it adds so much variety that it is making it fun again. I was in a rut.

My wish list now is, a bigger basement so I could get a hack/squat leg press machine, doesn't look like that will happen for some time.
