    "False grip" or not

    Do u use a false grip(thumb under the bar) or regular grip(thumb wrapped around the bar?

    False grip can cause wrist injury(forcing it backwards) in the future....plus I have heard people commit that it takes their forearms out of the mix of things....personally I want my forearms stronger not weaker.

    I have heard both of these facts as well, but for me personally, I find that using a false grip, saves my shoulders from getting pain. i think its just a mechanical problem with me, i have tried so many different methods of benching to try and remedy my pain, and layoff periods too, among other things one of the most helpful things i did was switch to a false grip, and turn my hands slightly (thumb side about 1cm up, maybe even less), it helped me quite a bit,
    but thats not saying that it is better for everyone
