head feels like gonna explode on decline...

whenever i try to do decline barbell or dumbell presses with a decent slope, and heavy weight, all the blood goes straight to my head and i feel like its gonna explode. after the set my eyes will be watery and everything, i know that cant be good for u. anybody know if theres a way around this besides substituting decline bench for dips? i know i can use machines but id rather stick to free weights......

that happens to me as well. I think youll be fine as long as you don't pass out. If you'r holding your breath throughout the set don't do that.

This probably won't help much but at least it'll bumo the thread.

    I actually love decline work...

Between sets I stay on the decline bench and let my arms hang below my head and get such an awesome blood rush in them that they recover lightning fast.

To each his own I guess But as Mass said, suck it up bro!

You can't stop gravity. Mass junkie is right. You'll just have to work your way through it, or around it.

What the hell? Why didn't my message show up?

Anyway, you can't stop gravity. You'll just have to work your way through it or around it.

Definately use a spotter if you feel like that.....try new breathing techniques, and if you start to feel lightheadedd throw that damn bar up on the rack as fast as you can!!!

hey... if the blood rushes to your head when you do declined exercises and you feel like its gonna explode, its not a good idea to keep on. What i advise you to do is make sure you breathe..take short breathes not long breathes.

also most importantly if u still feel its too much for u, decrease your number of reps..instead of doing 10 do 6 or 7, (whichever number u feel comfortable with)

You can pass out if you just keep going while your head is red like a tomatoe and feels like exploding...i dont think you want a bar with weights falling down your throat
