    why train legs???

Me and my buddy train hard religiously and always train legs ..now we see guys in the gym that have built upper bodies and no legs ...
Im guessing they just dont train legs . I always see the same guys doing chest and back.. Im sure they dont even know where the squat rack is..
It seems these folks are from the sacred tribe

    wenevawerashorts

same guys same sweat pants so basically I want to know who trains legs ...am I alone here???

I train legs once a week, never missing a workout. I've been known to puke after a set of heavy squats or have my body pretty much shutdown for ten minutes after squatting. With all that... I still love working legs. I hate those beach muscle fucks who walk around in pants in 100 degree weather cus of their twig legs.

Legs are essential for continous growth. The body is a symetrical organism. The upper body will only grow so much before it has to be compensated with a larger lower body.

Besides, a 50 inch chest and 19 inch arms would look pretty funny sittin on top of 20 inch quads and 12 inch calves

I also hit legs about every 5-6 days....I would hope the majority of AR members do too. It will be interesting to see how many "top heavy" chicken legged BBs are on here though.

Sure huge upper bodies and skinny legs/calves, great look!!! As soon as they hit the beach people will laugh at them!
Traning legs produces more natural hgh then traning any other body part (need i say more?).

I have a love/hate syndrome on leg day, itīs a good feeling but i dont like puking my brains out.

Legs Are Essential. Everyone knows that a man having a huge upper body and a small lower earns the title of "PUS."

I have one question pertaining to legs, I heard from a friend that has done many cycles that if you do lower body injections doing legs helps to circulate the gear better. Is there any truth in this or can i call him a crock of S@#t.

Agreed....after heavy leg presses i just want to lay down, but you have to clear off all that damn weight when you are on the verge of passing out.

Squats do a number on my abs as well as my legs. I work legs just b/c it makes me run faster. The fact that they look awesome is just a perk!

I box squat 3 sets to failure( i mean i can't get the bar up it has me pinned on the safety bars)
then I do leg presses deep and slow to work both hams and quads. I then head to the straight leg dead lifts and do three heavy sets. This has been my leg routine for years, although I do change it up some. This routine combined with good genetics is why my legs are 27.5 inches and ripped

Hey, finally someone who understands. I've been doing this for sometime due to a knee injury, and it's ok. I just can't get the same lower body pump without doing squats, there really is no way to work your whole lower body at once like squats or deads.

I hit legs once a week. Bodybuilding is about balance. If you do not hit your legs you are not balanced.

I don't work out my legs very often because of an knee injury. I can't squat more than about 80 Lbs before I start to feel a strain in my knees. Working them once a month is good enough to keep my legs tones, but not enough to build them up. I've pushed myself and ended up having to walk with a cane for a month. I do worm up, I do start off very light and work myself up, and I do maintain good form. Just bad knees.

    Just a quick question.

Have you EVER SEEN someone with a big upper body and skinny legs?

    I haven't!

    What does that tell you!

Of course not a professional, but a friend of mine was like that. He had a very large upper body, wide shoulders, a deep chest, big arms, the whole nine. I even knew women that thought he was just too big. But he had little ity bity bird legs. People that knew him, thought he was on steroids , because his upper body got so big, but from the waist down, he was exactly the same. He did eventually start to work out his legs when he went into the Marines.

I've also seen a couple wheelchair bound men that had big upper boddies, but of course that's because they couldn't work out their legs.

I guess my point is, it can be done. It just looks stupid and if you're focus is the scale, you're crazy not to work out your legs, because those are the muscles that can get the largest and weight the most.

That about sums it up! If you don't train legs - it effects you everywhere.

Unless you're jacked to the gills (but then they'll wonder why they easily lost their gains too - the got themselves so out of balance) or have some funky genetics, the upper body will stop responding if the lower body gets no attention...

In addition to that, the lower body hold the largest muscle groups - Quads, Hamstrings, and Glutes. The sheer intensity of leg days causes a natural hormonal cocktail (GH, testosterone , ...) that fuels growth everywhere.
