Working the Abs - Now I am really confused!

    Hi All,

I was just about getting to a point of knowing how to really train the abs to perfection...

Then I read this article, which blows EVERYTHING out of the water! http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/weis12.htm

Any comments at all? (Especially from those once or twice a week abs advocates )

I find some people do Abs as much as everyday and as little as once a week. Bigol is correct, 2-3 days a weeks should be fine. Everybody is different so you'll have to find what works for you. Just like any body part, you should vary the exercises to stimulate muscle growth.

I used to do abs everyday. Then one day off. Then two to three times a week. The best results come from two to three times weekly. The abs are a muscle that needs rest to grow just like all the other muscles.
    Peace.

ive heard westside does heavy crunches with heavy dbs for low reps/sets to help not only strengthen abs but develop them. I see a nice benefit to having a stronger mid-section in lifts and athletic stuff.
