Working out on Atkin's Diet
Should my workouts change while on Atkin's
My ultimate goal is to build. However, I have spent the last 4 months bulking. I'm very happy with my results, but I want to drop some bf before my next cycle.
My workouts while bulking on high carb/protein medium fat
-no cardio
-4 day split routine
-lifting heavy, 6 - 10 reps
-spending 45 - 70 minutes per workout in gym
My workout on Atkin's
-4 day split routine
-lifting moderate, 9 - 12 reps, and less sets
-spending only 35 - 40 minutes on weights
-20 minutes cardio
Any suggestions would be appreciated

I don't think so, I'll tell you I tried it while on a 500mg 12wk test enan cycle and I didnt like it. No energy at all. But good luck though.

For anyone who's interested.
I've now been on atkins for 2 weeks. I want to lower my bodyfat before my next cycle. I was able to continue to work out for about 5 days. I found that my muscles and body were very tired; like my muscles were not healing. Went to a spinning class last Friday and that was it. Haven't been to the gym since (and I never miss workout days)
I'm switching back to a MORE SENSIBLE DIET where I can get the carbs my muscles need. I have lost weight in the last two weeks, but it's not worth it.

Save your carbs for postworkout and you should be able to maintain your workouts and still lose fat.

Save yourself from the agony and quit the Atkins diet. While it may be good for a 200lb chick who wants to lose weight for the HS prom, its not suitable for a bodybuilder. If your goal is to shift your body composition by losing fat and preserving/building muscle you need the carbs...whats important is the amounts, the kind, and when your eating them. Take a visit to the Diet Section and we can help you put together a diet.
