hmm...i don't see why it would be
I actually can't think of a faster way to burn muscle than running for 45 mins on an empty stomach.
Definately not recommended for someone trying to build muscle and grow.
But not a bad idea for someone with a sky high bodyfat trying to lose the spare tire.
well, that is true...that kind of cardio should not be recommended on an empty stomach. I guess I always just assume that when people are talking about "running" for 45 mins. they mean a steady jog at low to moderate intensity.
thanks guys
I'm confused then. I've always heard that am cardio on an empty stomach was the best way to burn "fat" not muscle. If what your saying is true, then when should I do my cardio if I am cutting?? After weights perhaps??? Or before?Quote:

well hes correct and so are you, in a sense.. cardio in the am on empty stomach is ideal, but not running a fast paced walk at about 70% heart rate is perfect for burning fat not muscle.. running on the other hand throws your body into a catabolic state..Quote:

Yes, cortisol is high in the morning, but so also are GH and testosterone which will protect muscle as long as you dont go ass wild with the cardio.
So basically if I do a fast walk or light jog in the a.m, I'm good to go for burning fat instead of muscle, right? Cool, thanks to everyone who replied, appreciate it!
i normally do cardio around 2-3 but im gonna start doing it earlier, but at least eat light or drink a protein shake before you head out to the bike or the mill.
So is it ok to sleep afterward are not?
would your metabolism slow down because you are sleeping ?
We should bump because the question was never answered
Hmm.. think its cool to sleep after.. why not !
