quads/hams --> separate workouts! yes/no?
i have big problems to grow my legs, especially with my hams!
i was thinking of doin separate workouts for quads and hams, what do you think?
is a split like this senseless?
mon: quad
wed: hams
fri: quads
mon:hams
wed: quads
fri: hams
...
and what about:
mon: quad
thu:hams
sat:quads
tue:hams
fri: quads
mon: hams
please, need advice and personal experiences!
thanks

I train my quads and hams on diffrent days. Simple reason is that your legs are almost half your body and it seems a bit unrealistic to do a good job training them if you do them together. I like to train calves and hams together cause the blood is alraedy pumping in the backs of my legs and i give quads their own special day.

maybe in appearance, but wt wise your legs arnt half of your body, and they are perfect to hop from pull to push exercises.

my previouse routine was:
leg ext 2x12-15 warm up
leg press 4x6-8
leg ext 3x10-12
smith machine 1 leg lunge 3x8-10
standing leg curl 3-4x8-10
seated leg curl 2-3x8-10
(no ham deadlifts coz low back problems)
but i found that when i start leg curls i feel tired and cannot do a great work there!
so i was thinkin of 2 separated workout for quads and hams (and do callves with hams)
ciao and thanks

yes seperate them into 2 different days. You can concentrate better on them... ecpecially if your lagging..
you have your own day for chest.. or back.. why not hams/quads, you also seperate bi/tri's and also work them together..

I think it works either way. I would like to do them on the same day but when I'm done with my quads and calves I'm to tired to work hams. On top of that the quad pump makes it hard for me to walk much less curl. My leg routine is like this tuesday quads, calves, wedneday hams, abs, cardio. My logic for tuesday and wed is to split my upper body up and give it rest after doing chest and bi's on monday. Then thursday back, tri's and friday shoulders, traps.

Id just do them in one training session, do quads first one day and the next leg day do hams first and so on.
