Do Static Holds Build MUscle?
I was looking at a few websites on how to train your neck and a lot of them recommend to use static holds (where you press the side of your head against a stable object and hold it for 30 sec. or so).
Do these static holds do anything to increase muscle?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure that it does! Static makes ur fibres to inject and enlarge the bloods comming increasing the size of it. Wouldn't bet 10 k on that but pretty sure it does.

From my experience static is a great way to get over flat spots in your training/development. Personally, I wouldn't do it in replace of lifting(although some do) but I do think it is effective if used when you are unable to progress on a given exercise...Hope that helped.

Been doing static shrugs to bring out my traps with power bands looped in a squat cage getting great results and still doing the regulars, bar and dumbbell and machine shrugs still.

yeah they do.. but i think 30 secs is too much.. for best results you should use a weight that u can max hold for 10 secs.. for example.. if u bench 220lbs you should use 330lbs and hold it for 5-10 secs.. if u can hold the weight for more than 5 sets you´re useing to little weight and should put on more
