best movement for side delts
which will pack on more size to your side delts, presses, or side raises ?
i've been hearing 2 different arguments on this question ;
1. presses build your side delts more eventhough the primary group working is your anterior delt the secondary stress on your side delt is still greater than side raises!
2. side raises will build your side delts more because it is the only movement to directly hit the side delt and put the direct amount of stress needed for it to grow!Last edited by crosby7117; 04-04-2004 at 11:53 AM.

Do lots of presses to get over all mass on your delts and do lateral raises to target your side delts specifically.

not what im looking for, if you had a choice to build your side delts with one exercise which would it be ? just imagine i know this question is not practical so just humor me i guess !

Lateral Raises with super strict form are the way to go IMO, if you're looking for just one exercise

Laterial raises are good. I like to do them sitting down, standing or on a incline bench with my chest on the board. I switch it up. I think presses are the massbuilders for me anyway and the laterial raises help define them and finish them off. Presses get everything going for me but I always do some sort of laterial raise. just my .02.

something I stumbled upon made me have to buy some new shirts.
seriously.
overall warmup swinging arms around wildly for about 2 or 3 minutes... proper or not .. thats what I did
started side lateral raises with a 40 pounder to failure (max of 15)then picked up a 20 to failure then a 10 to failure
THATS IT FOR SIDE LATS then I did the fronts and rears the same way.
Each time I shot for more reps or a heavier weight ... I got up to 60 pounds for 15 reps .. then gave up because it was getting outta hand .. form was off and traps started to grow .. but thats because I wasn't strict. So, if I was hey I may have stuck with it .. but trust me.. as little as it seems the overall number or reps say 45 within a very short period of time (2minutes tops) made em grow ... BIGTIME..
hmmm maybe I should get back on that!

Superset wide grip upright rows and side laterals. I posted about this issue about 3 weeks ago and have been doing that routine since, they are coming out little by little.
