Ok, i just had a heart attack when your avatar popped up, tell him to stop looking at me.

Smith , you get a good deep stretch, yes they give you a good pump. . .keep changing it up, guarantee yourself new muscle growth.

My avatar could kick your avatars ass....I almost always use a smith machine when I bench. It really allows me to isolate instead of using my shoulders to stabalize the bar, so the stress is all on the pecs.

IMO, the smith machine doesn't allow for the proper motion on a bench press. It makes you go straight up and down... not up and out a little like you should.

I use it for military press when I don't have a spotter.

Been awhile since I used Smitty for bench. Think I will work it in tomorrow and see what I get. It's experiment day anyway.

    I like the Smith machine

Flat bench hurt my rotator cuff muscles badly once,so once I healed I started benching on the Smith machine. It lessens my chances of re-injury,and I like the feel of it.

first of all, that method man avatar is sick. you need a pic of him smoking a blunt though. as for the smitty for bench, i like to use it, but not as my primary exercise. it doesn't allow the proper range of motion for a bench press

Also, it's like any other machine, with a controlled range. If going with a machine, why not just opt for pin moving rather than plate loading?
