Complete Thyroid Panel
Hi everyone,
I was recommended by austinite to get an annual blood test in addition to the blood tests before, in the middle of, and after cycles. The annual blood test includes the following:
Total testosterone
Bioavailable testosterone (free and loosely bound)
Free testosterone
Estradiol (E2) (specify “sensitive assay for males”)
Luteinizing hormone (LH)
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)
Prolactin
Complete blood count (CBC)
Lipid panel
Sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG)
Dihydrotestosterone (DHT)
Cortisol
Thyroid panel (complete)
Comprehensive metabolic panel
Prostate-specific antigen (PSA)
Insulin growth factor (IGF -1)
Vitamin D
Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)
In order to get all of these tests, I need to get a few different blood panels from private md. For the “Thyroid panel (complete),” which of the following tests should I get?
Thyroid Check Deluxe:
Thyroid Profile II Comprehensive
Tri-iodothronine (T3), Free, Serum
Thyroxine (T4) Free, Direct
Reverse T3
Thyroid Antibodies
Antithyroglobulin antibody
Thyroid peroxidase (TPO) Antibodies
Thyroid Panel with Ferritin and Vitamin D:
Ferritin, Serum
Thyroid antibodies (TPO & TAA)
Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and Free T4
Tri-iodothyronine (T3), Free, Serum
Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy
I also have a question about the cortisol tests. Should I get the “Cortisol, AM” or “Cortisol, Serum” test?
Lastly, for the “Tesosterone, Free and Weakly Bound” test, it says it includes total testosterone, % free+weakly bound testosterone, and F+W bound testosterone. Therefore is this test enough to find my total testosterone, bioavailable testosterone, and free testosterone?
I am sure these are ridiculous questions, but I have never had blood tests done; so I just want to make sure I get the correct tests. Thanks.
