Liver enzymes quickly returned to normal after discontinuing Anavar

After finishing my Anavar cycle at 100mg daily for 10 weeks my liver enzymes were elevated (not horribly) but definitely not within normal range. ALT was almost triple the upper limit, AST was double.

Now about 2 weeks later they have returned to

    ALT 30 U/L, AST 26 U/L

Now I see why you guys are so insistent on getting blood work done, and why it's important.

Looking forward to checking my hormone panel once I finish PCT and all the meds are out of my system to see how well I recover. Getting lipids checked on Saturday morning since they need to be done fasted.

Many guys use NAC (n-acetyl cysteine) as a treatment for high ALT levels.

NAC is just a precursor to glutathione.
Its becoming more popular to just by pure glutathione and go through an injection regimen.
I personally am done with NAC. It has become outdated so to speak amoungst guys that arepinning anyway.

You realize that simply working out (muscle trauma) can raise liver enzymes above range for up to 10 days. Sometimes multiple times over range. So, don't be so quick to place all the blame on the var, even though imho 100 mgs daily is an unecessary dosage.

Although NAC, or glutathione, is a great antioxidant it will do very little for high ALT levels.

ALT is an enzyme, not a toxin.

If you dont remove the cause of toxicity (100mg of anavar in this case) ALT will be high no matter how much glutathione there is in the body.

Again, taking NAC is advisable on and off cycle, just dont think it will be able to counterbalance the toxicity of something like 100mgs of anavar.

I see and agree. I thought you were saying it had no effect. I understand what alt is and the way glutathione works. No it wont counteract the toxic crap you put in but once it is stopped it helps in lowering alt level by allowing toxins out.

If it worked the other way every bottle of jack daniels would come with 1000mg of glutathione and alchoholic would never have to worry.
