The equation is:
Total testosterone = Free testosterone + Albumin bound testosterone + SHBG bound testosterone
If your SHBG is low then you have less of that binding to testosterone. Total test remains the same, so you get more free testosterone.
Free testosterone is what counts really because the other ones don't bind to the androgen receptor.
