TSH levels - confuses is it better to have a low tsh or high tsh value
Hi,
I recently got blood work done and tsh was 1.4 (range 1-4, forgotnunita indknt have the paper work with me as I’m currently overseas). I’ve read that a lower tsh reading indicates a better functioning thyroid. Is this true or am I on the low side of things? I’m also aware that even if the thyroid is releasing enough t4 this doesn’t mean enlighten of that t4 is being converted to t3.

Did you get your Free T3 and Free T4 checked was well ? TSH by itself doesn't paint the whole picture for your thyroid health.
I no longer check my inbox. If you PM me I will not reply.

1.4 is not bad. But if your T3 and T4 were low, it could still indicate that you don't have enough thyroid hormone.

Blood work redone. Is it worth taking some T3 to boost to the number?
TSH 1.16 uIU/ml (range 0.27- 4.2)
Free T3 2.76 ug/ml (range 2 -4.4)
Free T4 1.41 ug/dl (range 0.93 -1.27)
