Getting blood work for those of us in restricted states (NY, NJ, RI) requires extra effort

Most online labs have a posted policy or a hard stop at checkout when entering in a NY address

I’ve read of others purchasing gift cards for these sites, then using the gift cards to make the purchase, and using the address for an out of state hotel so nothing shows as NY
I didn’t go this route, so can’t confirm

I’ve been ordering through marek, as they apparently don’t care & I didn’t have to jump through hoops
They have a disclaimer at checkout saying you may have to go out of state to get the blood drawn

I tested my local labcorp first
The woman seemed knowledgeable & said they changed the law which made it so labs couldn’t bill an out of state account, so she could draw my blood, but they wouldn’t get reimbursed for it because it’s an out of state account number

I’ve done 2 draws so far at 2 different out of state locations
For anyone concerned about flashing an NY id: it doesn’t matter & they don’t care

One lady asked if it was my current address because I was 2 hours away from home & I told her I was passing through to visit family

Another option I found was ordering tests directly from quest & labcorp
They physically exist in NY, so apparently no issues with that law
They have fewer tests (no e2 lcms-ms/“sensitive”) and they’re more expensive
But if you only want a cbc & cmp to peek at your hematocrit & liver values, it’s more convenient than driving a few hours

I also tried a salvia test (zrt labs) side-by-side with my pre cycle bloods
Saliva showed mid range e2 & upper end test
Bloods showed e2 of 10 & test was at 200
Total shit, but I tried it so you don’t have to

Hopefully this helps the next guy
