First off, I know I was stupid. A friend calls me last night to go out because his sister had several friends in town and asked him to get some friends to come out, so I went. I ended up hitting it off with one of his sister's friends, but the stupid part, never got her number. I also made the mistake of telling my friend I thought she was hot. He tells me a little while later that he has been trying to hook up with her for a long time and asked her out. By that time it was too late, they were already gone. This girl is really hot, was definitely showing interest, and appeared to be serious girlfriend material (which doesn't exactly punch you in the face all that often). I know my friend's sister pretty well and my friend has about 3 other girls he is working on right now, which brings me to my question: Should I pursue this at all or chalk it up to the "g*d d****t, what the f**k was I thinking" gods and just forget about it?

P.S. I am normally not the type to give up easy at all because once I see something I want, I do my best to get it. Also, I am aware that this is b.s. high school type drama...

I've never regretted passing on a piece of ass - well, I've never regretted it for more than about a week. I have regretted putting some ass before one of my buds.

I look at it this way, which is easier to do? Replace a friend or replace some chick I just met? I can go over to the next girl and buy her a drink, but can I go up to a dude and say "Will you be my friend?"

For this specific instance though, I think the friend is being a greedy prick. If he's got three others on the go, he should let you take a run at this one.

I would normally say the same thing, but I think this is a different situation. If your friend is trying to hook up with three other girls he obviously doesn't care too much for the girl you are interested in, and if he is upset if you get her than he is just being greedy IMO. Be straightforward with him, tell him that you are interested in her as well, and that you are going to pursue her.

sorry for the late update...i finally talked to my friend's sister and got to talk to the girl again. she said that she wished i would have asked her out before my friend...so now i have a date with her this weekend. thanks for all the input bros, its looking good
