Cool I am in financial services. Know a few in that line of business. It is very close knit.

Headhunters are usefull to an extent, If i were you, I'd pick up the phone book, and call every ashpalt company in the book and tell them your experience, and that you will send them your resume.. Try to land a permanent position before having a company find you a job.. If all else fails, try kellyservices.com and manpower.com..
