Hernia
I wasnt sure what forum to post this on. Has anyone had a hernia from lifting? I had one when I was like 6, and I am afraid i might have another. I was doing Hip Sled last week and it really started to feal weird just below my abs. I felt it a few weeks back, but it went away. I have been feeling around, and havent found any buldges, just a weird feeling.
Anyone else had experience with this? How long where you out of the game for?
Thanks,
psy

It will never go away. You have to have surgery. Pending on which surgery you opt for...it could be days or weeks before can even walk...let alone lift. You're looking at least 6 weeks before lifting moderately again after surgery.

I dont know if I have one or not bro, but every time I do deads, it hurts so BAD that I would rather hang myself. I usually drop the weight a little if it gets too bad and push through. Not a good idea though, Im just stupid

Reducable henias go in and out, you can live with them for years and be OK. I have had one for years and continue to lift heavy. Make sure when you are doing heavy deadlifts or squats that you wear a wieght belt that covers the area and wear it tight. I cant train my abs at all or it will pop out. If the bump or pain/spasm doesnt disapear within the day, it is not reducable and you may want to get it fixed.

If its in your crotch area then a weight belt probably wont cover it but there are hernia belts you can use if you dont want to get the surgery.
