OK, the z06 I have weighs 3115 link I have a lil' over 357 RWHP as I have the LGM headers and x-pipe (off-road version) Vortex cold air, air bridge, and straight hose instead of bellows. On slicks, I run 12.47 at 4200 feet above sea level. On Goodyear KD's I run 13.2 and have a friend who had an IS300 that couldn't break out of the 17's. He'd jump in his '99 Formula and click off 14.1's all night long on factory trim.
Bone stock I ran 13.01, because I didn't spin the tires dumping the clutch at 1800. Now I have to launch at 1200 and hope I don't haze the tires.

I worked four years with no vacation, and at least fourteen hours of over time a week to put down $9K on an 02 SS. I got 1.8% for 48 mo. financing on it. Last year September I traded it in for my Z. Got $18.5K for it and only owed $13.5K. Took what was left and put it down on the Z and tossed in $200 I had in pocket for selling headers I was going to put on the SS.
Payments are $496.56/mo. Insurance kills me. I have four speeding tickets and one accident. Not a home owner, not married. I'm 27 but that doesn't matter. I've taken deffensive driving, but that doesn't matter. I'm still paying $233.86/mo.
So, now I have to work at least six hours of over time a week. Thank God for over time.

look up on Kazaa "911 turbo" there will be a file come up a porsche racing a charger.. its about a 1/4 mile race at night.. good quality vid too... charger OWNS the porche.. one of the most one sided street races i have ever seen.

i just wanted to clarified some things since i'm here. this video wasnt created to show that american cars suck or anything ( I don't know why people get so offended when and import beats a domestic? even the racers in the video who lost gave us thumbs up and were cool) it just happened that the only cars we ran into were domestics that day. It was a gathering of a bunch of people who has fixed up cars and came out to show it off and to race and just have some fun.

now i dont know about car as much as you guys, but trust me when i say those cars were not stock, and they dont need to be for the IS to beat them.

Also no one said this IS is the fastest or greatest car ever...so stop dogging it. In fact we have better cars (Toyota Supra and Nissan 240's that are faster than this car) Instead, just ask what this car has that makes it fast? Well for anyone who wants to know. this car is a sleeper car. it has a turbocharged toyota supra engine and tranny with around 21 lbs of boost which gives it 400+ horses to the wheels. It has full interior and everything and is a daily driver. If you look carefully in the video, the windows were rolled up in some of the races because we were hot and had the AC on!

So my point is, give credit where credit is due. there's nothing wrong with fixing up a 4 door luxury car and making it fast and surprising some powerful american cars...or any fast cars for that matter. it's quite fun.

oh btw ...for the guy who said the person driving the z06 should be shot? well that was actually my brother driving that car. that car, i know is actually stock. it runs mid 12's i think. how do expect it to beat the IS which has more HP and is lighter?

I'm not offended in the least, that it out ran any of the cars in the vids,stock or not, I'm also still not impressed however, and I'm not taking shots at you, or your car,I hope you understand that....but at this point if that thing had blown the doors off a 747 I still wouldn't be impressed. As street racing, or blow by's don't impress me in the least. It's far to dangerous, and it puts innocent lives at risk.

In your future videos, if you line up at a drag strip, and you both launch off the line at the same time from a complete stop and your car takes a domestic, import whatever, then I'll give it it's props.

Because as I see it, if you continue to street race, even in the best of circumstances, and you're quite lucky, the only thing you'll have to worry about beating will eventually be a wreckless endangerment rap, if no one is seriously injured.

Hell I have a hard enough time making it to and from the grocery store without getting hit or hitting someone as there are far to many idiot drivers on the roads, who are highly unpredictable.

But hey on the other hand, props to the camera man for doing an excellent job of keeping the camera still, as I tried to film from inside the cuda once and Me and the camera wound up looking at the back seat! when he got on it!
