U.S. Near Seizing bin Laden, Official Says

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) - The United States and its allies have moved closer to capturing Osama bin Laden in the last two months, a top U.S. counterterrorism official said in a television interview broadcast Saturday.

"If he has a watch, he should be looking at it because the clock is ticking. He will be caught," Joseph Cofer Black, the U.S. State Department coordinator for counterterrorism, told private Geo television network.

Asked if concrete progress had been made during the last two months - when Pakistan has arrested dozens of terror suspects including some key al-Qaida operatives - Black said, "Yes, I would say this."

Black, who briefed a group of Pakistani journalists after talks with officials here Friday, said he could not predict

I believe these theories are possible. George doesnt seem too worried about the election. Almost as if he has a sure dead set plan. That plan being the capture and or death or Osama. Keep it under wraps just before election so it is still fresh in peoples minds and not enough time for the media to scruntinize it. Then George will be praised for finishing the job he started. Not a bad plan. Keep Osamas body on ice and then throw it back in the desert until a certain date.

Why hide it until the election? Wouldnt you find it tasteless and deceptive if UBL comes into custody moments prior to Nov 2? It would be too obvious.

For a moment let's just place ourselves in an alternate reality where GW will not win the election reguardless of UBLs capture.

By making it known that UBL is in custody or dead now would surely turn the tides of the election, which back in the 'real world' GW will win anyway.
