All I saw in this entire thread was ANAL PROBE. It got me excited in a very disturbing manner. anyway....

My thoughts if I was paranoid. The government planned the mishap because they recorded data that the public can not see. Once the probe came to earth, the public would request access to it such as the enquirer and such. The governement would have to refuse access to certain things such as the ALIEN BASE on MARS. So, the easiest way to avoid such things was to download the data straight to a TOP SECRET computer, and then destroy the evidence.
