Hopkins knocked De la Hoya out

Neither fighter was very impersive, utill the 8th round when Hopkins went on the attack and landed many body shots which downed De la Hoya. Apparently a few punches landed on the left kidney ended it.

He's got Golden Boy Productions to keep him making money and busy for the rest of his working life. Lost his last 5 fights if you ask me. Time to hang 'em up for good.

De la Hoya looked pretty good early. He pressed Hopkins which i think confused him somewhat. But Hopkins was too strong for De la Hoya and just walked threw his punches. Hopkins caught De la Hoya with a great left hook to the body that took a second to kick in. Hopkins threw another right hand which grazed De la Hoya's head, but he was already on his way down from the body shot. De la Hoya grimaced in pain and kept hitting the canvas with his fist and was counted out.

U have to give Hopkins his props! Even though i think De la Hoya is done, Hopkins is 39 and no one can touch him as a fighter.....

I didn't see the fight, but it sounds exactly like what Gatti did in his last
fight with the body shot... Hopkins is a tuff sonofabitch Philly boy...
