Teeth dont bleed. If blood is actually dripping out of the tooth, my guess is that you have a cavity that has eaten through your whole tooth. The blood is coming from your gums.
You better get that checkd out quicky!

Start taking care of your teeth brother. With a cavity that bad, they are probably gonna have to remove the tooth. You've had to have been in some pain for a while?

The good news is.... your teeth can actually become strong again after being weak.
Go to the dentist and get them cleaned and drilled. Then invest in crest white strips, they work wonders.
Start brushing regurarly and you wont even noticed you missed a beat.

I wrecked my teeth ages ago to the point where I had to have eight removed and now I wear a plate, which sucks. Now I take really good care of the ones I have left. It would depend on how much of the tooth is gone and whether or not, when the decay is removed, there is enough left to attach a cap, if an x ray shows a lot of decay then it will have to go. I hope it isn't at the front.

Thats good teeth can get stronger, I hope they do. Its one of the bottom teeth a few back, luckily its not in the front. Id say a quarter of it is missing.

They will def. remove it. Ask them for a floride treatment while you're there, it helps make your teeth stronger.

I had one capped that was nearly half gone, the dentist said he thought it was very borderline as to whether or not it would hold but that he would try, it is still in there. You may be lucky and not lose it, but don't leave it because if the root gets infected and you get an abcess then it will seriously f**k you up.
I should say it was nearly half gone after the dentist drilled away the decay, as I said before, it will depend on the state of the tooth under the cavity.

This sucks now Ill have to get a fake tooth. I was hoping there was something else they could do. Its my own fault though. I will get the fluoride deal too. Dont they give you painkillers for that cuz I cant take that stuff.

I dont know about it rotting out but I had three of my front teeth knocked in half by a chick with a beer bottle. The dentist fixed mine up pretty good.

They will prescibe painkillers and you should be really careful and follow any instructions they give you or you could end up with Dry Socket Infection which is very painful, the actual extraction shouldn't take too long, I think it took my dentist about 15-20mins to extract a tooth, including settting up and all that, though that was years ago. The pain doesn't really last too long.
Good luck

Well i guess I will find out. I cant even imagine him drilling it, I touched it earlier and it just started bleeding everywhere. Do you think its possible to endure it without narcotics?
-

Do you mean the extraction without narcotics?.. I don't really want to go into whats involved as it will probably freak you out, but I couldn't imagine it without anesthetic, most dentists use that numbing gel first so that the needle doesn't hurt as much, but yeah, you do need the narcotics.

They will numb you up and he will actually pull it out with plyers (spelling)

Im not worried about the needle, I down with the numbing lidocaine. I really arent up for the pain pills after though. I know they used to pull teeth out without anything to help patients. Im not in a good situation here

Floss too. I had a dentist once tell me I didn't even have to do it every day. He said just try and make it at least twice a week. And I've also been told listerine can do wonders for receeding gums.

When i was younger me and my lil bro were riding down the street on our BMX's and i lost control flew off my bike and hit a big trash can and chipped my front tooth. it was sore, i was more concerned as to what it looked like rather than how much it hurt

I went to the dentist and he couldnt even do anything. Now I have to go to a specialist and get a root canal. Has anyone had that done before?
-
10-23-2004, 06:35 AM #21
I have had root canal done before, it is not pleasant but it isn't too bad. Better than having it pulled, you probably wont have to take too many painkillers after either. Much better deal than having it removed, though I suppose it will cost more.

The thing about root canals...is that you only hear about the bad ones. Obviously going to a dentist (or specialist) is never a "fun" thing...but root canals aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be.
You'll be fine, and you won't have pain from that tooth anymore afterwards.

you might have one of many things including a periodontal abcess (which can actually get pretty **** serious if you dont get it checked out). Normally they would give you a root canal and clean out the inside with hydrogen peroxide, but since your sounds a little worse than that theyre most likely gonna remove the tooth.

had one split in 4 pieces.. they put a crown on it.. cost $500-$1400 each tooth... most dental will take care of 50%......
unless it happened in a car accident.. then you are covered by your car insurance as well..The answer to your every question

mine got split just below the gum line in a car accident along with some other horrible **** but your lucky bro ill take you through the run down.
First I had to get it removed not to big a deal then in order for me to get a new tooth I had to take out the metal pate holding my jaw together. After this I had to take a peice of bone from my jaw and implant it into the hole where the tooth is so the implant will take. Then I had to implant a steal rod into my jaw. And now I have to get an attachment for the crown. After that finally I need the Crown. All about three months in between each operation for it to heal properly.
Total cost about 3500-4000$
If its not where anyone can see it when you speak then I suggest not repalcing it if they remove the root.

Thanks guys that actually makes me feel better. Pain usually doesnt bother me but fvckin with nerve endings and sh1t is not fun. Thats true though you only hear about the bad ones. They said it would be 1200 bucks. He also said it would be more to pull it out.
