Edelbrock makes some good heads (as does TFS.... LB will vouch for them ;)).. (the E-Tec heads are just like vortecs, BUT flow a bit better, and with aluminum heads, you could get away with 91 octane fuel, with the same 10.4:1 CR)...
Personally, I would run a blower, or turbo, or a proper squeeze setup.... but if #s matching really matters, then I would go stroker.... no one would ever know you had a big crank.... and the added cubes will get you some torque...
Lighten your car, get a proper tranny-rearend setup, play with your pinion angle (-5 deg. sounds good :D)... get some tires.... there is no reason you can't run 12s :cool:
