This might just be the dumbest question i ask but when ist says the half life os somehting is 4.5 hours does that mean its last for 4.5 hours or 9 hours..

it means it takes 4.5 hours for half of the drug to be broken down. after that i think it just keeps going in halves

it means in 4.5 hours you'll have half of what the original amount was and every 4.5 hours that last amount decreases by 1/2.
