Who do you think is the greatest of all time? I'm not really sure who I wold go with on this one. Dan Marino? Joe Namath? Johnny Unitas?

I'm gonna have to go with the current player Favre. That guy has gone thru so much, including his dad's passing, his wife being diagnosed with Breast Cancer ... and he uses that built up pain and still wins games. He's unbelievable. Not to put down Namath, Marino or Unitas. I have respect for all of them. But I think we all know that Manning is going to surpass Marino shortly.

I firmly believe that Payton is the greatest QB to ever live and he is only getting better, I have seen some good ones but that is my opinion.

What are we basing this argument on? Passer rating? TD's? Yards? Super Bowl wins?

Best ever...(I hate to admit it) Joe Montana. He did what Marino couldn't do. Marino was amazing...but he couldn't take it to the next level.

Current day...Favre is good...but he's very inconsistent. Throws a lot of picks. However he does have amazing leadership skills. People want to win the SB for him. That's the hardest quality to ever achieve. Others can throw farther and run faster...but can they lead like Brett?

I will agree, for some reason when I was posting Favre didn't pop into mind, but he has overcome all kinds of $hit and continues to shine!! He's got me vote!

I hate Joe Montana......Jerry Rice made him the QB that he is today

Marino will always be the man

Right now I think Byron leftwich is the QB of the future

Not to mention his dedication to the game.... I believe he has the most consecutive starts ever.... he plays with broken fingers.... I forget what game it was when he got hit so hard that he got knocked unconscious but still threw a touchdown the next play and doesnt even remember it.

202 consecutive starts if memory serves. That's just regular season and doesn't include playoffs I believe. He is I believe the most gifted and prolific passer the game has ever seen. It's the things that everyone has already mentioned and the things that can't be taught that makes him so good. But the thing that seperates him from so many others is that he genuinely enjoys the game. If Brett has a smile on his face during the game you can be sure the other team is worried. Finally I've always said that if #4 has a pulse the Pack has a chance. GO PACK!!! Mark

manning is the greatest now and will probably be the greatest of all time....but presently, either marino or unitas are the best QBs ever.....but i truely believe manning will be the best we've ever seen.......he's only in his 7th year and breaking records left and right.....he'll win a superbowl or 2 at least before he retires

They still need to improve their D before they start winning any SB's.

And they'll probably lose Edgerrin James this off season. Of course, I bought his jersey a year ago...

Well, this question can be answered in many ways depending on how you look at it.

The best QB of all-time is Joe Montana
The best overall athlete at QB of all-time is Steve Young
My favorite QB of all-time is Jim Kelly (he called his own plays at the line of scrimmage)
The best QB in the game right now is a tie between Brett Farve & Payton Manning
The best athlete at QB is a tie between Donivan McNabb and Steve McNair (when healthy)
My favorite QB playing right now is Daunta Cullpepper
The best rookie QB is Eli Manning (give him time, he'll be as good as his brohter.. I dont like him though.. I dont like his brother either... cocky bastards)
The best rookie athlete QB is Ben Rothlesburger
The best young QB in the NFL is Carson Palmer
The strongest arm in the NFL is Kyle Boller (he threw a 50 yard pass on 1 knee his rookie year at the combines.. no jokes or lies)
The funnest QB to watch is Micheal Vick
The best QB you never think of is Jake Plummer
The worst QB that everybody thinks is good is Aron Brooks.

Cmon Mike Vick is easily a better athlete than McNair or McNabb.. Vick can sling the ball downfield, make plays with his legs and make tacklers miss all day. he is best imo, only gonna get better...But Eli being best rookie? Easily big Ben is the man, rookie of the year fo sho...Eli Manning is blowing it out his arse right now. But Farve is a badass and peyton is playing great too..Vick gets my vote tho :spudnikha

So you're telling me that if you were building a team... you'd take Vick before McNabb of McNair? Yes, he can throw the ball 70 yards, but Micheal Vick is the most inaccurate QB in the league. He cant hit the side of a school bus.

In this entire thread...Elway was only mentioned once. He is a freaking legend! The come back King! He was amazing guys. How can he go unnoticed!?

    Current era:
    Montana
Marino and Elway are almost tied.

The come back king happens to be Jim Harbaugh duh!!
Who doesnt remember the 95 colts and their AFC championship run??

Maybe I'm a homer but Manning dominates the game like no one has before. Watching Peyton play is like watching a Heisman trophy winner compete against highschoolers. Its just not fair the way he understands and executes. Now that my FF season is complete at least I have the Colts to still cheer for.
