ya its not a great idea to use the straps often. use them for things like maybe deadlifting or shrugs and such.. but if you find yourself using them to support you wrists for like bicep curls.. then thats not a good thing..your wrists will stay weeek seeing that the straps are assisting your lifts

If they help improve your lift, use 'em. Your goal is to improve your lifts daily and growm its not to train your wrists!.

I call them wraps? is it just me or am i thinking of something different? Yea i use them sometimes when doing shrugs, i use 70kg barbells (about 155lbs) for shrugs and my grip at that weight isnt great, so they help out alot.

They take a lot of stress off of your forearms, so I dont use them, the way I think of it is this, If I can push the weight off my chest, or shrug them with my shoulders, then my grip should be strong enough to do it also. They only time that I even THOUGHT of using them was when Istarted doing deadlifts again, and those heavy deadlifts are tough, but hell it will make your forearms grow I would assume.
Peace
Alex
PS: I see a lot of people using them in teh gym, so to each their own.

I use them in high rep schemes. If I'm training back and doing 4-5 sets of 12-8 reps, then, yeah I use them.
Are you talking about a wrap that goes around just the wrist? I seen people use these things that look like really thick sweat bands around their wrists. I've never used those.
Any way, I use the straps for pulling excersises. I did straight leg deads once for 3 sets. I wanted to go 20-15-12-12, but because of the knarly bar, I could only manage the fist three sets with out the straps. I forgot them at home.
