How do you rate your gym? What do you like and dislike about it? Anything you would change about it?

I go to Gold's Gym. Its about 10 minutes from my house. I like it because it has new equipment, a great juice bar, the dumbells go up to 145lbs, and there are always plenty of nice young ladies.

My garage...about 25 feet from my house...bands,boards,chains,weights and a power rack...Great for lifting and female torture.

I workout at a mom & pop gym about 2 miles from my house. The DB's go to 140lbs. Not many hardcore lifters in there. Mostly a younger crowd (who do more socializing than lifting) with a few older housewives and their fat husbands.
They recently repainted the walls and equipment and have layed rubber flooring instead of the old carpet they used to have.
Overall I give it a 7 out of 10.Last edited by Monkeytown; 01-03-2005 at 02:05 PM.

My gyms alright... id give it a 6 outta 10... dumbells go up to 130.. but they forgot to get anything between 105 and 120! couple other things that bring down their rating.. but they are supposed to move in the next couple years or so and I think that will be good.

YMCA, very nice the largest in the area. Upstairs downstairs and just 5 min away, give or take a traffic light or two.

I go to a great local independent gym. I would rate it 8+, less than 5 miles from my house. It doesn't have the most or heaviest equipment, but very cool tone and atmosphere to workout.

Mine rates a 10.....7 miles from my house but it's the company gym so it's two floors down from my desk....oh yeah it costs me nada....that fact alone makes it an 11. hahahaha

I workout at a 24hr fitness in Québec. It's the only hardcore gym around here... And I'm one of the few natty's in there Dumbells go up to 200 lbs (By 5 pounds increments). I give it a 9 out of 10. There's so much machines and things in there we're squeezed!!!
First post btw, sup ya'll?

i still go to my old college gym about 20min drive.......i give it 4/10 since all the equipment is very old and not much leather covers left on the benches either, but its free and has what i need (plenty of free weights up to 185 lbs dbs) and is empty most of the time...............

I workout at ballys.... I like that its only 3miles from my house and its a pretty big/clean place.... dislikes are that they arent open late enough on the weekends and there are way to many people there in the evenings doing unproductive activity.... 6/10

I work out at 3 different gyms lol.
During school i use the school gym, which has actually fairly decent stuff in it, but its hella crowded, noone puts stuff back, the bars get oiled like once every 2 months, the stereo doesnt work, and the dumbbells only go up to 100 Overall, 4/10, but its included in tuition
During school breaks when i live up at school in my apt., i go to Shippensburg Fitness Club. Very small gym, equipment is literally jammed together, theres not much room, but its not crowded, dumbbells go up to like 135, and its clean most of the time, and they have XM Overall, 7/10
During the summer, i go to the gym i consider home, Blast Fitness. Big steel building in the middle of the woods, 20 minute drive from home but well worth the drive (i live near the city, my local gyms are too crowded). Dumbbells go up to like 140, giant building, excellent equipment, never crowded, its almost perfect. 9.5/10.

At school its the Uni gym, and its more than sufficient.
At home I work out at a Bally's, which is decent all things considered. Its pretty much like the Uni gym only less free weights and more Natilus machines......Its a good deal IMO, and the drive is about a mile so its pretty close.

Harveys Gym, about 15 mins from my house.
It's nice, but when there are a lot of people there it smells like dog pee

I go to fusion fitness
15 mins away from my house and 2mins from my work
It's a brand new gym, one of the partners Cathy has appeared in a few flex magazines and shes still in great shape. The Dumbells go up to 160-180 lbs. I love that gym. I've been to 24hour and golds and they don't compare IMO.

24 hour in bakersfield, ca. It's about 3 miles from my house. I actually hate it right now b/c tonight I saw all the "new years resolutions" and it was packed. Not the gym's fault though. 8/10 (db's to 140)

I work out at a large independent gym. I'll give it an 8+ for equipment, atmosphere and size. The best part is that I can litereally throw a rock from my deck and hit the side of it.
