doc patient confidentiality???

can anyone tell me for certain if a doctor can rat you out for using AS to the cops???
i have a lump i need to get checked out from injecting- but theres no way my career could handle a narc charge. and i really dont think the b12 lie is going to work...
any ideas??
i cant use my "tricare" insurance as well- any input would be great!

should- what the hell is that suppose to mean? this is so vague i'm only guessing that it depends on the doc i go to.. i dont have a priamry physician, so anyone i go to is going to be a stranger- and having to tell them about my AS use could be construed as potientially hurting myself..... jeezz what a flipping pain in the ass!!

I've gone to a doctor for an infection from AAS. Told him it was from AAS and he never reported anything...not to cops and not to insurance agency.

i just called a physicians office and told them i was doing research on patient confidentiality for a class- have to call back tomorrow to talk with the administrations office- i'll let you all know tomorrow whats said..

mostly because i am an absolutely horrible liar- as soon as i start to tell one i begin to laugh hysterically (its an awful curse). even if they were to belive me they would send me to psych for evaluation...

I believe this is illegal. You cannot record a conversation without consent to use as evidence.

you can sue their ass off for telling cops, and you can have the case thrown out of court. read up on HIPPA its the privacy act

they can tell if your going to hurt yourself or someone else though, AAS is obviously not the case though

they can tell your insurance though, and insurance can store it in the nationwide database, this may or may not have potential to come back and bite you in the ass

Depends on the conditions, but it would most likely hold water in court. Tell him its being recorder if your a stickler.
