    Best vacation destination in the Caribbean?

    Me and the family are going on vacation in august, and my mom wants to go to Cancun, but I say the caribbeans. Where have you guys been in the caribbean and how nice was it? I am thinking about Jamaica.Or maybe an island somewhere. Where should we go?

    I have been to the Carribbean on a cruise and to Jamaica. I don't know where to advise you to go, but if your family is going, I would advise you to stay on the resort and tourist areas. When I was in Jamaica I went with a buddy and we got into all kinds of dangerous sh*t. Take care and enjoy. Jamaica and the Carribbean are beautiful places. I am going to Negril (Hedo II) in Nov. and can't wait...

    Mexico is great if you go to the right spots. All depends on what you are looking for. I personally do not like cancun. Also it is way to hot in August. I like the spring and fall for mexico and the carribean. I will be heading to ochos rios in april.

    I heard barbados is really nice. St Thomas/St John is pretty sweet too. Where are all the beautiful women at out there? But then again my GF might be going =(

    Grand Cayman is my favorite. but its a lot of cash
    I'm going to the DR in March.. cheaper all-inclu
    Jamacia- nasty IMO
    Mexico been there done that
    Bahama's not bad.
    Turks and caicos is suppose to be the best. that is where I want to go next time.. $$$ though.

    Are their any pharmacies or vet shops in cancun? I would think it would be easy to smuggle orals on a plane........ Now I am kinda curious. What is there in cancun anyway?

    Look into St. Martin French side to stay and eat on, the Casinos are on the dutch side. Food is great and there is a nice nude beach. Great place. I also honeymooned on St. Johns and is a great place but not for kids, not much to do on the island, since most of it is national park. St. Thomas is just like the US. Walmart etc there. My wife and I are going to Barbados in April... I'll let you know how it goes.

    Just get all the phone # and prices before you go, get with the concierge and tell him to order the stuff and you know prices(mex prices) and tell him to have it delivered to him and you will tip him. I have done this and if you just go to a pharmacy they will overcharge in cancun. That little mall there has like 4 pharmacies in it... wonder why

    concierge? Is that the dude that waits on you in the hotel? That would be SWEET if they could bring the goods right to your room. If I go it will be at the Flamingo hotlel. But again I would chance bringing vials, I would only feel safe bringing back orals.

    Fvck... have the concierge (consee-air) get a fed ex 2day air box, and he will even call fed ex and have it picked up and give you the paperwork when done. tip him again. Now, the paperwork just say t-shirts and nail polish (gifts) on the box write with marker "wish you were here". Do that the day before you go home and it will be there the following day.

    Yes I have done this, are they legal... Yes. Do they like tips... Yes. Do not let them know you are shipping those back via fed ex. Get the fed ex box first and let them know you are mailing some t-shirts before you go home. Then later the next day have them get the stuff for you, and if you have extra go to the local pharmacies. They will ship the package and you have a fed ex slip. Roids are legal there??? to good to be true? well it is true.

    Chuck, i went on a Royal Caribbean cruise to a bunch of islands, and lemme say, none of them were any real prize.

    I did go to a mexican resort the year before tho, and that was the best vacation ive ever been on.

    It was the Iberostar, Playa del Carmen. Look it up man, it was pretty inexpensive, all inclusive, stuff to do, and the resort was absolutely amazing, i couldnt believe it.

    Id go back to the Iberostar over my Carribean cruise any day.......

    Of the eastern Caribbean, Barbados has the nicest beaches by far. You're better off in the all inclusives because food gets expensive. Beaches nice, rum is plentiful. St. Lucia is also beautiful but not as modern as Barbados.

    I lived in Barbados and traveled to Trinidad, Tobago, St Vincent, Grenada, St Lucia, St Nevis, Antigua, Barbuda, and St. Kitts. St Lucia was the prettiest to me, Barbados the best as far as tourism.

    JDawg...I'm also headed to the DR in March...when and where? We are trying out Puerta Plata this time. We went to Punta Cana several years ago...beautiful beaches. Other nice places...probably my favorite so far is the Iberostar in Playa del Carmen, Mexico (as somebody else mentioned)...beautiful resort and beaches and lots to do (daytrips) in Mexico. I also spent time at Anthony's Key off of Roatan, Honduras doing some scuba diving and it is great. They have a Smithsonian-supported dolphin facility there. One day, I took my kayak from my hut (which was sitting over the water) over to the other key where the dolphins were living and swam right next to them...it was amazing. Probably not the place to go if you don't scuba, though. Bahamas are O.K. for a quick getaway.

    You could also try Cayo Coco, Cuba thats the only place ive been in carribean it was all inclusive, nice beach, nice staff, nice rooms, etc...
