???? about red blood cells

I know this is going to sound really stupid, but I have a test tomarrow and this question is on it and I can't find the answer. The question is "if you put a red blood cell in pure water what will happen"
Here are my choices.

a. shrink
b. swell initially, then shrink as equilibrium is reached
c. shrink initially, then swell as equilibrium is reached
d. neither shrink nor swell
e. swell and burst

I think the answer is b, but this is just a guess!! Any help would be great!

yep def e, there no cell wall to stop them bursting, so by osmosis water enters the cell and causes it to expand and eventually burst
