surf fishing question

hey guys what lbs test to guys use to surf fish with?? 15-20lbs test?? i use a 10-12ft rods..

It really depends on what your fishing for bro....Sharks 50 - 100lb test..If your fishing for shnook 15 - 20lb test...

well most fish caught in the outer banks of nc esp on the surf are around 1-20lbs. on average but occasionally there are some that are larger

usually 12-20 lb test 15lb to be safe that what way if you want you can still use lures (generally 16+ test is too much for lures.)

also i like to run steel leaders incase you hook into something with teeth.

I was going to suggest 12-15 as well. Steel leaders are always a good idea.

What you fishing for Hung? Reds, Snook, trout.........

In Florida I always used 15lb test.
Even if your lucky enough to hit a big run of tuna, it should suffice...

haha whatever bites my friend.. my friends and i for the past few years go fishing in the obx once or twice a year.. we have caught anything from cobia, trouts, blues, puppy drum, big drums **** you name it we have caught it or atleast tried to.. its beautiful out there. if you get a chance GO! drive the 4*4's out on the beach throw your lines out and drink beer!! june cant get here fast enough dammn!

That is what I call good living! I usually drive out to wilmington with 3 or 4 buddies and charter a boat for 12 hours. We caught so many yellow fin Tuna the last time that we brought the boat in a few hours early. Each cast returned a fish within a few minutes....It was nuts!

yeah i lived there for a few years, mainly through college.. fished and ****ed as much as we could hahahaha oh yeah and drink too
