yep, it is called muscle dysmophia(SP?) or bigorexia
abstrack@protonmail.com
is that a joke or are you being serious![]()
Seriously, it is a mental condition that some psychologists believe why bodybuilders/powerlifters/strength athletes are always trying to get bigger, stronger, etc.
I'm 255lbs at 5'8" and I definitely don't think I look that big. But that's what motivates me to get my a$$ to the gym.
He's serious. It's the opposite of anorexia.
I have a serious case of it myself, but it's all good...

Constantly sadly.
I know I have this for sure..... my girl keeps messing with me though. She'll go out and buy shirts that I already have in a bigger size and put them in my closet and when I put 'em on I freak out cause how loose they fit. She laughs her ass off and eventually so do I. God I love her sick sense of humor. Honestly though, I think you'll find that most of us on here have this at some point in our life.
im 195lbs 5"10
i cutting that also make you feel small![]()
I always feel small, I often compare myself to other guys I see in the street thinking are my arms bigger than his ? etc Gives me more drive to train harder though.
i put on 10lbs in the last two weeks and i was jus lookin' in the mirror and i fell like a scrawney toothpick and all my time in the gym is a waste of time. What help is is to not look in the mirror as much or at the gym wear long sleeves for a few weeks then wearf a tanktop at u will notice more ur progress. I dont go by the scale 100% i go by how i look in the mirror
Dood even when i was 275lb's i felt small![]()

I wonder if any of us will ever reach our goal and be as big as we want or if no matter how big we are we still have a constant need to improve and become bigger ?
But then again what if we did reach our goals and get to the size we want, would training then become boring without something to aim for ? Would there be any satisfaction from just maintaining and staying the same ?
me personally if im just maintaining, i would not work out. although everybody says to me u look great all u need to do is maintain. But that does not work for me i jus want to be a big fckin freak with vein poppin through my shirt
with a tight shirt or a loose shirt...Originally Posted by GQplaya
i have always felt that it is wrong to take something productive, like building muscles and classify it as a "disease" like anorexia. Personally i don't think anorexia is a disease per se either, i think it is a fixation, or obsessive behavior expressed in some people as the need to be smaller. The same obsessive fixation may be present in some men who bodybuild and manifest itself as the need to be bigger. If there is an actual disorder at hand, it is of the obsessive nature, much like OCD. It's the manifestation that is different.
However, there are plenty of well adjusted men who have no obsessive disorder who just want to be huge. I would say the main difference between the disordered person and the well adjusted person, is that the disordered person probably only feels good about themselves for very brief periods, and then regresses to a period of slight depression.
The non-disordered person with no OCD-like brain malfunction, i would say feels more satisfaction from there training results on a regular basis, even though they still strive to be bigger, and may still have periods of slight depression but nothing destructive.
But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong![]()

thats funny as sh*t... lolOriginally Posted by BIG TEXAN
my theory is that its the pump that makes u feel small, being that its only temporarily, ur muscles get big and then u see them and think they look good but once u go home about an hour later they are back to normal size and u want to get as big as they were when they were pumped. so no matter how big u are or how much u weigh, anytime u get pumped up and see urself, youll always feel u can be bigger when ur back to normal.... confusing, yes

Yes, I always compare myself to other guys too and feel small
Hell yes I always feel small and fat, and I'm bigger and more cut then most people in my gym. I mostly blame the net and the magazines, because I used to compare myself to normal people and I was happy, but now I look at myself and I'm like "you little piece of sh!t even Dexter is twice your size!" And it doesn't motivate me at all, it bums me out so I try not to think about it.
And the strangest thing is I feel even smaller while I'm on cycle, I guess I have even higher expectations then.I gained 15 pounds on my first month of my current cycle with the same bf% and I look smaller then when I started.
What motivates me are the pictures of my fat a$$ when I was a kid.
I think its funny when ya feel small and fat at the same time, when it probaly nuttin
I always feel small.

The rest of the time, it's a different story.
Well I guess we all have mental problems. Yeah one day I feel big and the next I feel like a little goat.
