New PC Build Problems

I have attempted to build a PC for my Dad and i cannot for the life of me get the sonofabitch to work properly. I got a new ATX PSU from newegg.com and also bought a new ATX case.

I am putting in a VIA motherboard, 2.4Ghz Celeron, 512MB SDRAM, and i cannot get power to come on, i have worked and worked on this problem and have not a clue.

I am thinking i might need to leave it alone and go back to it, it has to be something simple as i doubt the PSU is bad?

I just graduated with a degree in computer networking and i cannot get a simple ****ing PC to work...i guess i am screwed in this field of work...

Might just be something simple, did you forget to connect the switch on the cases power switch to the motherboard?

What actually happens do the fans in the PSU actually start and just not the pc or is there absolutly not power at all ?

No power at all. I have the ATX power connector hooked to the motherboard.

I would think its the PSU, do you have a spare one anywhere you can try in there ?

turn the power on at the wall !!

check your power supply fuse.

i think u forgot to connect something to the motherboard, i had the same problem

Check the connection from the switch on the case to the Mainboard, and make sure the pins are in right spots. Check to make sure the voltage setting on the PSU is at 115.
