    Raw egg whites

    How unsafe is it really to drink your egg whites raw? do any of yous do it?

    I do, all the time

    even says on the carton its safe to do.

    i looked this up before...... i eat 12 egg whites a day......i use a hand held mixer to beat them, then add some milk, tastes like whole milk.......

    The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now estimate that 1 egg in 20,000 may be contaminated

    dont use any eggs with cracks in the shells btw....

    nope...i buy the egg whites that are already seperated in the cartons, alot more convenient that cracking eggs and then seperating the yolk/white.

    you mean egg beaters, do they make them safer, or is it just like eating right out of the shell.

    ya i just did that as well but figuring out the price difference in buying a carton saves money and i believe you get more outta the ones in the carton.

    I get those egg beaters every day....more convenient and safe.

    I get about 80-90 grams of protein per day just from that. I guess that's the equivalent of almost 30 egg whites.

    Egg Beaters are pastuerized, they are safer than say plain egg-whites, but even then it isn't really an issue.
