Blah blah blah, we are all talk and no action!
Let's have a pow-wow on what to do about this steroid witch hunt.
Here is what is never going to happen:
It won't be legalized
Won't be decriminalized
Will never be accepted by society
Never will be understood by the general public.
So here is what I am thinking. We start an online initiative to point out worse legal govt. endorsed dangers in society. We start an online petition asking our govt. to stop wasting tax payer money on this steroid fiasco and start showing a true public concern and put an end to tobacco use.
1. Tobacco is far more abused by youth than steroids .
2. Tobacco kills more people a year than murder, suicide, car accidents, and drug overdoses combined. I am not sure, but I don't think the of steroid related deaths is a 3 digit number a year.
3. Let's say for a minute that steroids do kill their users. Well tobacco kills and sickens innocent people through second hand smoke.
Feel free to add to the list, but lets stop whining and do something. Anyone seriously interested PM me. We will gather a list of names of Congress people for every state to foward our petition to. We will send it to the media. We will do everything we can to stop the wanton disregard of the public's health by Congress. They should not be trying to win constituients by being hard on the flavor of the month, as opposed to tackling real health issues in this country.

Yeah true. I was thinking about High-Fructose Corn Syrup which is a big cause for America's obesity issue which has officially shortened the American life-span by 5 years.

You are missing the whole point. Re-read the answer I gave to you the first time. I said tobacco isn't going anywhere. I am trying to help point the figer in another direction.
Even if it doesn't have any effect, it beats whining amongst ourselves. Now that will definetly accomplish nothing.

I agree completely with bringing the public awareness to the real issues. I know a tobacco ban would never happen with as many pocket being lined as there is, but I would never urge the gov to interfere with peoples lives and what they consume in any way. Not to get off subject, but I think smoking should only be prohibited where it will affect others. Same thing with owning a gun, I'm all for gun ownership and believe the gov shouldn't interfere with that, however it should never be legal to shoot someone. I drink alcahol, but dont think it should be legal to drive drunk. I believe these are the issues we should focus on with steroids as they do not hurt anyone except those who choose to abuse them and if anything make it a drug that should be under doc supervision.
Other things we should point out is that people are often putting themselves at more of a risk when things like juice are banned. Hundreds of people on this board inject themselves every day with crap they had to buy in a 3rd world country that is not even human grade. Not only that, but half of them are fake gear that is for sure not sterile and often poluted with things that should never be injected into a human(armor-all). if they were legal here we sure wouldn't have these problems. Guess I'm preaching to the choir here though.

Women over 30 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get away with it.
For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free". Here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage, why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire Pig, just to get a little sausage.

Hey, I'm digging all the thought process flowing in this thread, so let me contribute my own steaming little pile here.
Is convincing the powers that be in the government that they are a bunch of hypocrites even an option? Politicians know what they are doing and they are not motivated, a lot of the time, by anything other than what is good for them and their friends, who probably have a lot more money than most of us on this site. So what I'm saying is that someone has an agenda here and that is the reason that hydrogen isn't powering our cars and tobacco isn't illegal.
Let's be realistic here, we're not a bunch of stoners tripping on shrooms and listening to Phish & talking about changing the world, man (by the way, if you saw South Park last night, you got that one). Those guys never accomplish anything and I'm afraid the revolution we're all hoping for isn't going to happen on some grassroots level.
Eventually this is going to blow over, all trends come and go and eventually some old lady will get killed by a crackhead and the tide will turn back to a war on drugs that actually lead to crime and despair.
So I think the most practical solution is something that goes like this: Instead of wasting our energy on a lost cause we (or I) become focused as hell and make some serious money, because like AC/DC says- money talks. With money goes power, right? So let's say that we now have wealth and power and we never compromised our ideals, then we are in a position to facilitate change. With that being said, don't you think McGwire and Sosa are loaded to the gills? Maybe not on the scale it takes to get congressmen and senators to slide back and listen to the news.
Look, I love America, I've laid my life on the line for my country more times than I can count, but the wind of change is starting to pick up and it's pointing south brothers. Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Argentina, the list goes on...if you can't beat em...fvck em' play to your own tune and if your an adventurous spirit, get your own little thing going south of the border and you'll have a drink in your hand and your toes in the sand, none worse for the wear...just a thought.
