My parents have a Toyota Prius that they like a lot... its so quiet that in parking lots people will be walking in front of the car and almost get hit cuz they dont hear it behind them. It gets about 45 mpg average and top mileage is about 60mpg.

I love my Prius. Gets 40 mpg and fits into any parking space, no matter how tight!

I like the new Honda accord has 255 horses but top dollar they are getting as only 20,000 are expected. For the extra $3-5k it would take ten years to amortimize that for what you are saving in gas prices. But less emmisions are a good thing. When the warranty goes and you need a 300v battery expect to pay $2k!! Yikes. Expect many more out this year. The best on gas milage is the Honda Insight up to 60-65mpg but if you like the looks of a ugly toy go for it.

I have GTO 2005 with 400HP. I LOVE my car, don't care about gas. I had a chance to drive a prius. Booooring like a hell. Slow acceleration, no room for my legs and my shoulders.

Sweet ride. I recently went to autoshow in motion, drove the 04 gto, c6 vette, cts-v etc. I think a c6 is in my immediate future. 18/24 gas mileage ain't too shabby for a v8.

Was there a gas guzzler tax on the gto?

My suggestion is the new Honda Accord V6 Hybrid. It's 0-60 time is actually faster than the normal V6. The reason is because it uses both it's gas engine and electric motor to accellerate under wide open throttle. Not bad for a car that is heavier because of the batteries and electric motor.
