The Olympia!
I guess we all know Ronnie is going to win dont we! shame Lee's not competing but i guess he could do with the time off!
It says that this year in the Ms Olympia they are going to have an overall title dont know if you guys follow them too much but who do you thinks in the running for the overall Andrulla Blanchette or Valentina Chepiga personnally i like Andrulla an interview with Valentina in Flex proved she was too up herself! Here is my prediction for the Mens Olympia top 10:
1) Ronnie Coleman
2) Chris Cormier
3) Kevin Levrone
4) Shawn Ray
5) Dennis James
6) Nasser El Sonbaty
7) Jay Cutler
8) Melvin Anthony
9) Tom Prince (I f he looks like he did at NOC)
10) Craig Titus, Orville Burke or Markus Rhuel
* I think Kamali has pissed too many people off
As far as the womens division goes, it's a mess (sorry). They don't know whether they want differen't classes, they don't know if they want mass, hardness, symetry, shape, vascularity....it's way to ambiguous at present. Poor Vicki Gates never knows what to bring to the table. Even last year...in the lightwieght class Andrulla won. Big, full, sweeping muscle bellies and great muscularity. But in the Heavywieghts they awarded it to Valentina Chepiga who, IMHO, looked more like a buffed up fitness competitor than a bodybuilder (I actually prefer the look of fitness women). If they wanted consistency...Vicki Gates should have won. Just my humble opinion.

I just got the new M&F today. Top 20 photos section shows Ronnie. He looks like an alien. Horrible in my opinion. Lee standing over the man hole looks so symetrical...small waist and all...even ah human. What do yousay we call him up in Atlanta and see if he'll don the trunks.

If we're gonna pull Lee out of retirement, I say we go after Dorian as well.
I find the natural progession of Olympia contenders interesting if nothing else. Frank Zane was slightly over 200lbs when he won, Arnold was 235lbs at his heaviest (but also stands 6'1"), Samir Bannout was 218lbs @ 5'8", Lee Haney @ 5'10" looked huge wieghing 240lbs, Dorian graced the stage @ 5'10" 260lbs and last year Ronnie won wieghing 270lbs @ 5'10". Marcus Rhuel, Paul Dillet and Nasser El Sonbaty routinely compete @ between 280-285lbs. It won't be long until we see a 300lb ripped bodybuilder. It's getting a little to crazy if you ask me......

Getting more freaky every year! I don't like it personally. It's taking a wrong turn in my opinion. Thicker waists....etc.

HGH!
Too much IMO
Yates in 1987, when he won the Over-British Title is my ideal physique, 1992 and 1993 were great, but his proportion and symertry were awesome in 87.

BA you just make sure to give us an up to date report from the Olympia this year. You can be "AR's" special correspondent and send back reports as it unfolds. I'm actually attending the Canadian National Championships this weekend...I know it's not the same thing but I'm still pretty excited. A good friend of mine is competeing as a welterwieght and has legitamate shot at a top three placing in that division (ask Mike...he's seen the photos).

Its all about mass now and that takes the show away from some of the guys like Wheeler,Ray who have great symertry.Ronnies good but it is going to have to be a big mutha to knock him off or he retires (like they normally do)

I for one would really like to see how things turn out. I'm wodering if Kamali, Titus and Anthony are gonna throw down and just start slugging it out on stage. I'm also interested to see how Dennis James does...have you seen his pics from 5 weeks out? If you're interested let me know and I'll post it.

Unfortunately Ms. Fiqure there are far more chess players in the world than bodybuilders. That, along with the fact that the general public considers all bodybuilders to be drug-riddled muscle-heads withy no real life, is why we are subjected to chess, bowling, billiards, darts and dog shows on sports channels as opposed to BB'ing. It is an unfair characterization, especially when you consider the dedication and determination to get where most of us are...whether you use drugs or not is irrelevant, we all work just as hard. If they could only partially realize the sacrifices involved in acquiring the physiques we want, let alone getting ready for a contest, they may change their minds about the sport. It will be interesting to see where competitive BB'ing goes now that they have IOC approval...there are even reports circulating that BB'ing will be a demonstration sport in Athens in 2004. All people thinking of qualifying for their national team should rule out deca

I've heard stories like that, fortunately for me (and Roberta) I don't gamble...never have...never been interested. Both times I stayed in Vegas I walked through the casino but didn't spend one dime. I was more interested in the whole Vegas atmosphere than I was about gambling.

Andrulla
I have a video of the EFBB British Championships from 1986 where I won my class. Andrulla Blanchette is also on it and won the junior ladies lightweight class after just over a year of training. She was hard and lean but very slim back then. You could not recognise her face or body if you compare it to how she looks now though.
